Dreams do come true!
After 22 years of following my husband during his Marine Corp career and 21 years of working in the Johnson County Appraisal district, I have retired early. I am blessed to own my Gammill Longarm quilting machine which has brought me to opening up my own quilting business.
I have been quilting for 35 plus years. My maternal grandmother exposed me at the age of 10 to sewing and hand quilting. It was amazing the way she was able to create beautiful color combinations from scrap fabrics and clothing. Of course, every piece of the quilt was hand cut and sewed on her peddle machine with many of the stitches an inch long and sewn with love. My grandmother's age and even blindness didn't keep her from doing what she loved and her dedication and love to her craft has been instilled upon me.
Quilts are very important in my life. I have spent many nights cocooned in a quilt my grandmother made. Making me feel safe and close to home, even being 1500 miles away from my family in Texas. The last quilt my grandmother made was for my daughter in 1975. I aim to keep her legacy going with the same love and passion here at Loretta's Stitch N' Stuff.
My goal now is to build my lifetime dream of owning my quilting and fabric business with the help of my wonderful granddaughter, Morgan Reynolds. Expect a warm welcome like you would get going to Grandma's when entering Loretta's Stitch and Stuff! I look forward to meeting you and making your quilting dreams come true too!
